A brief, afternoon concert at the King’s Chapel!

My friend Dr. Thomas Gregg is a singer, composer, and retired voice teacher with whom I worked at The Boston Conservatory for many years. Together we will perform the Boston premiere of his original work for marimba and voice entitled “A Nordstrom Songbook”. Dr. Gregg set five poems by Mary Elizabeth Nordstrom that are inspired by the beauty of nature of the seashore, along with a prelude and postlude for solo marimba.

Then I will be joined by my Provincetown friend and violinist, Loren Lee, to perform George Gershwin’s “It Ain’t Necessarily So” from Porgy & Bess, transcribed for violin by Jascha Heifetz and adapted for marimba by yours truly. We will also perform “Nightclub 1960” from Astor PIazzolla’s Histoire du Tango and finish the program with a trio arrangement of “I Am What I Am” from Jerry Herman’s La Cage aux Folles.

This will be a short and dynamic program in a gorgeous space! Read more about the King’s Chapel Tuesday Recital series here. Open to All • Suggested donation: $5
