Strength & Sensitivity is a touring concert experience which blends percussion music, poetry readings, and multimedia exploring the impact of stereotypes, social-emotional intelligence, and the intersection of art and the gender equality movement, created by percussionist, entrepreneur, and educator Colleen Bernstein. The Boston debut celebrates international women's week, in solidarity with the UN's HeforShe Arts Week.

The Boston program will feature 22 local musicians playing original works ranging from rap to funk, classical, experimental, musical theatre, and soul, within the framework of poetry from Gloria Anzaldua and Maya Angelou, music by emerging composers, and contemporary classical heavy hitters Julia Wolfe and John Cage. Brian Calhoon’s Marimba Cabaret will make a solo appearance featuring music by Rufus Wainwright and Julie Spencer.
